When the closure of the former Enniskillen Yacht Club was being considered in 1987, the members felt that it would be fitting to commemorate the long history of the club, and its association with the town of Enniskillen and Lough Erne, by the formation of a Charitable Trust.
When this was completed all the Club's remaining assets were transferred to the Trust apart from its valuable collection of historic Silver Sailing trophies which was presented to the Lough Erne Yacht Club at Killadeas.
How is the Trust Administered?
The Trust's assets are managed by nine Trustees some of whom are former members of Enniskillen Yacht Club.
How does the Trust work?
The objectives of the Trust are:
1. to support the work of Schools, Youth Clubs, Sailing and other water based Clubs in Co. Fermanagh.
2. to support the work of Voluntary groups in Co. Fermanagh and other Charitable Bodies.
In most cases the support and assistance to be given by the Trust will be financial.
